Charity Raggy Dolls Match Sunday 17th February 2013
The Blandford RFC annual charity game was set for Sunday 17th February 2013, with the game kicking off at 12:30ish. The fixture sets the men against the legendary Raggy Dolls ladies side with the aim of raising funds for a deserving charity.
This year the charity selected was Royal Marsden Cancer Research, a world-leading cancer centre specialising in cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education. After several weeks intensive training the ladies put on a glittering display of rugby. After the match players, spectators's and unsuspecting club members gathered at the clubhouse to continue the social activities including raffle, club songs and games.
After weeks of grey gloom and rain, the skies brightened and the sun shone down on the teams and an exiting game unfolded which you can re-live by viewing the Photo Gallery.
The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer centre, providing treatment and care for more than 40,000 cancer patients every year. It is also at the forefront of cancer research. Its work influences how all cancer patients are treated and cared for, not just in its own hospitals but all over the world.
