competitive tag rugby competitions held throughout the rugby season.

contact taste of rugby.
TAG rugby is a fast moving, non contact invasion game that
is suitable for both boys and girls to play together. Its safe non
contact nature, combined with fun and vibrance of the sport.
The interchangeable nature of possession, leading to rapid
switching from attack to defence, means that a range of skills is cultivated
and developed. Co-operation, integration and determination, along with
individual and collective responsibility, are all key elements of the game of
TAG RUGBY.
Each player has a tag belt around their waist with a tag on
either side, this is held on with velcro and when pulled off by an opposing
team member simulates a tackle and the ball has to then be passed.
A coach is allowed to run behind the team in a match to
offer advice and encourage the players. Coaches also assist in returning tags
to players.
As a young child learning the basic skills of Rugby Union
the rewards are many and fun, it is these basic skills that are the foundation
blocks of the next generation of players and possibly the next England XV.
