Spectators will be encouraged to:
- Act as positive role models to all players.
- Be familiar with, and abide by the BRFC and RFU
Guidelines in relation to verbal and emotional abuse.
- Respect the rules and guidelines set out by BRFC Senior
Section.
All spectators should:
- Remember players play sport for their enjoyment and not
that of others.
- Acknowledge good individual and team performance from
all players irrespective of the team for whom they play.
- Respect match officials' decisions. Remember - they are
volunteers providing an opportunity for people to play rugby.
- Never verbally abuse players, match officials, fellow
spectators or coaches. Such behaviour can create a negative environment for
players and their behaviour will often reflect this.
- Acknowledge effort and good performance rather than the
"win at all costs" ethic.
- Verbally encourage all in a positive way. If you do want
to shout make sure it is "for" and not "at" the players.
- Encourage all players irrespective of their ability -
never ridicule any individual player regardless of the team for whom they
play.
Spectators should contact the BRFC Chairperson or
Honorary Secretary if they have any concerns about the rules and guidelines set
out in this Policy. |
