The men of Blandford RFC took on the ladies of the club in
it's annual Charity challenge which this year was in support of
Help for
Heroes.
The Ladies trained and support by Giily, Pete and Stu took
to the pitch in traditional rugby attire while the men tried to out do each
other in the glamour stakes donning ladies attire and designer "Wellies".
Due to the weather conditions it proved an interesting match for the
spectators with all players slipping and sliding in the mud. The "trusty water
bottle" assisted those who began to feel the pressure. |
The final whistle saw the Ladies
triumph over the men. A speedy shower allowed them time to adjourn to the
clubhouse to watch England play. |

Help for Heroes has become, in the words of the Prime
Minister, a National Institution and it is hard to believe the
campaign only started in October 2007. Since then the campaign has raised
£1 million a month to help support our wounded servicemen and women
injured in the current conflicts. This has been achieved with your help. This
has really been something very simple, a group of friends who wanted to do
something to help, that message communicated to others who have joined in and
made this the success it so obviously is.
